About The DGAF Pre-Workout

DGAF (which stands for Dont Give A F*ck) is a pre-workout supplement made by Weighted Lift Supplements. It costs $44.95 for 30 servings, and comes in a flavor called Cobras Blood - after tasting it and asking the company about the flavor, we were told its Pineapple Strawberry.

It actually tasted good, but we realized DGAF pre-workout contains artificial sweeteners; personally, artificial sweeteners causes side effects, so we prefer pre-workouts that contain natural sweeteners instead.

Anyway, well tell you about the company behind this product, and then take you through the ingredient list.

Who are Weighted Life Supplements?

If you havent heard of this supplements company before this product, thats because DGAF pre-workout is their first product on the market. Theyre a new supplements company - so there wasnt much information available about them on their website.

We prefer seeing websites that provide all the information about the company. In our opinion, if theyre website isnt finished yet, then they shouldnt be selling products yet…rookie error from this young supplements brand.

But whats most important, is whether DGAF pre-workout contains effective ingredients in optimal dosages; this is exactly what well analyze below.

DGAF Pre-Workout Ingredients Explained

DGAF pre-workout contains 7 main ingredients, which well fully analyze for you in this section. This is a good number of ingredients to have; we dont like the pre-workouts that contain 10-20 ingredients, as ingredients are usually under-dosed in these products.

From first glance, were quite happy with the dosages of ingredients in DGAF pre-workout. And were also glad that no ingredients are hidden in any proprietary blends - so good first impressions from us.

For this reason, were excited to look deeper into Weighted Life Supplements first product. Well take you through each ingredient inside DGAF pre-workout below - so you can see how good this pre-workout really is, and whether its worth trying out.

DGAF Pre-Workout's Nutrient Profile: Beta-Alanine - 3.2g Citrulline - 3g D-Aspartic Acid - 2g Caffeine - 300mg 2-Aminoisoheptane - 100mg Noopept - 20mcg Huperzine A - 100mcg

Heres Everything You Need To Know:

Beta-Alanine

This always splits opinions; Beta-Alanine can enhance muscular endurance in the gym, but it also causes a side effect called paresthesia.

For those that dont know, paresthesia is a tingling and itchy sensation on your face and skin. Personally, we dont like this side effect, so we try to avoid it when we can.

We do acknowledge that Beta-Alanine does offer a benefit, and can improve your gym session. But Creatine Monohydrate offers enhanced endurance without causing side effect, so we prefer this ingredient instead (unfortunately, DGAF pre-workout doesnt contain creatine monohydrate).

Citrulline

Citrulline can be a key pre-workout ingredient, as its shown to improve your muscle pumps in the gym. Weighted Life Supplements has done a great job here, by dosing Citrulline effectively at 3g (3,000mg).

But if were being picky, we prefer Citrulline Malate (which is Citrulline with Malic Acid added, which has shown to improve your strength too). If youre looking for pre-workouts containing Citrulline Malate, then the optimal dosage for this ingredient is 6,000mg.

As weve mentioned, Citrulline will enhance your muscle pumps here - good job by Weighted Life Supplements, showing theyve done some research before formulating DGAF pre-workout.

D-Aspartic Acid

Were not sure why Weighted Life Supplements has added D-Aspartic acid into their pre-workout here; this ingredient is better in test boosters, as its shown to boost your testosterone levels.

However, its not going to do much here, as youll only be taking 1 serving of DGAF pre-workout per day. Simply put, studies have shown that DAA only works when consumed in 3-4 separate dosages, instead of 1 big serving.

But well give Weighted Life Supplements credit where its due; theyve dosed DAA optimally here. Its a shame that this ingredient isnt needed in a pre-workout supplement.

Caffeine

Caffeine is a key pre-workout ingredient in both pre-workouts and fat burners. Heres why: Caffeine has shown to improve your strength, endurance, focus and energy levels in the gym - which are all key benefits to help you make gains.

However, you need to watch out how much Caffeine you consume; too much can cause jitters and energy levels (over 200mg per serving).

Unfortunately, Weighted Life Supplements DGAF pre-workout contains 300mg Caffeine per serving. This means you might suffer from side effects if youre sensitive to this stimulant.

If youre worried about Caffeine causing side effects, we recommend pre-workouts containing less than 200mg Caffeine per serving.

Highest-Rated-Pre-Workouts-This-Year

2-Aminoisoheptane

Also known as DMHA, this ingredient is a stimulant thats believed to raise your energy levels. However, as its a fairly new ingredient, DMHA hasnt proven to be safe or effective in many studies.

For this reason, we consider this an unreliable ingredient. Call us old fashioned, but we stick to Caffeine when it comes to stimulants (Caffeine is proven to be safe & effective in countless studies).

If you want to learn more, weve written an article about DMHA here.

Noopept

This is a patented form of N-phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester; its believed to boost your cognition. However, its not shown to offer any other benefit to improve your gym session.

For this reason, we believe Noopept is better suited to Nootropic supplements - Caffeine offers enough boost in focus for a pre-workout.

Huperzine A

Similarly to the last ingredient, Huperzine A is another brain booster ingredient thats shown to enhance your cognition. But we also believe Huperzine A is better suited to Nootropic supplements; Caffeine offers enough improvement to your focus, to help you perform better in the gym.

Not only that, Huperzine A has been reported to cause numerous side effects in supplements. For this reasom, we usually avoid products that contain this ingredient.

Side Effects

DGAF pre-workout contains 4 things that can cause side effects; Beta-Alanine, DMHA, Huperzine A & the large dosage of Caffeine (over 200mg per serving).

Its possible to find pre-workouts that dont cause any side effects at all; in fact, the best pre-workouts on the market havent shown to cause any.

Heres the potential side effects from taking DGAF pre-workout:

  • Paresthesia (Beta-Alanine)
  • Jitters (DMHA & Caffeine dosage over 200mg per serving)
  • Energy Crashes (DMHA & Caffeine dosage over 200mg per serving)
  • Anxiety (DMHA)
  • Nausea (Huperzine A)
  • Diarrhea (Huperzine A)
  • Cramping (Huperzine A)

DGAF Pre-Workout Review Conclusion

As you can see from the list of potential side effects above, DGAF isnt side effects free…

When spending money on a gym supplement, we prefer to buy pre-workouts that dont put you at risk of feeling like sh*t in the gym. For this reason, we cant recommend DGAF you (our readers).

However, we wont completely criticize Weighted Life Supplements; this is a new supplements company and are allowed to have a year or 2 learning the ropes - didnt we all?!

Weighted Life DGAF Review

Bottom Line

While I cant recommend DGAF (their first product), Im hoping theyll learn from this and spend more time formulating their products better in the future.

Well be keeping an eye out for their new releases, as we believe that theyll create something special.
