Founded in 1996, MuscleTech is a supplements company that have been around for a while. They’re well known for launching their fat burners and market a range of products – from pre-workouts to protein powders.
Vapor X5 Neuro’s Ingredients Explained
Our first impressions of this product aren’t bad – no ingredients are hidden in any blends, so you can see exactly what’s inside.
But we looked deeper, we started to see some negatives. There’s a few risk of side effects, with some ingredients being under-dosed.
We’ve analyzed Vapor X5 Neuro’s key ingredients, to show you how effective this pre-workout is.

Beta-Alanine
This molecule’s shown to enhance muscular endurance, but it can cause paresthesia in doses over 0.8g-1g.
What is paresthesia? It’s a tingling on the skin of your face, chest, hands, and extremities (fingertips and toes) – it’s not seriously harmful, but it’s uncomfortable enough to ruin your gym session.
Vapor X5 Neuro contains 1.5g of Beta-Alanine, meaning you’re almost certain to experience paresthesia.

Taurine
This is an organic acid that contains sulfur. It’s used in supplements for it’s ability to reduce cramping, but it’s not a key ingredient.
It doesn’t offer any other benefits to improve your gym session, but it doesn’t come with any side effects either.
One thing to know – many people think that it boosts energy levels, as it’s seen in energy drinks. However, studies have proven that it has no effect on energy levels.

L-Citrulline
This is a key ingredient in any pre-workout supplement – when it’s dosed properly. It enhances muscle pumps in the gym, which has numerous benefits, from boosting muscular endurance to strength.
How does it work? It turns into nitric oxide in your kidneys, which leads to your blood vessels dilating. This increases blood flow, which promotes intense muscle pumps.
So what’s the optimal dose for L-Citrulline? It’s between 6,000mg-8,000mg.
MuscleTech has seriously under-dosed this ingredient at 1,500mg (1.5g), meaning it’s very likely to be ineffective in Vapor X5 Neuro. If this was dosed correctly, we’d have given it 5 stars.

Creatine Monohydrate
There’s a reason why it’s been used since the 1990’s – it works.
Creatine Monohydrate’s proven to improve strength and endurance in the gym, which will definitely boost your gym session. For this reason, we consider this a key pre-workout ingredient.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine
Also known as ALCAR, it’s a key pre-workout ingredient when optimally dosed (between 500mg-2,000mg).
Why? Because it’s shown to reduce fatigue and muscle damage, as well as body fat – these are all great benefits to help you reach your fitness goals.
But here’s the problem – it’s only effective when dosed between 500mg-2,000mg). Vapor X5 Neuro only contains 100mg, meaning it’s almost certain to be ineffective in this pre-workout.

Choline
Choline hasn’t shown to provide any benefits in studies conducted. But it comes with a side effect – it can cause fishy odors in your breath and body secretions.

L-Theanine
One of our favorite ingredients in a pre-workout supplement.
Why? Because it enhances the benefits of caffeine, without increasing the risk of side effects like jitters or energy crashes – so you can consume lower doses of caffeine to experience the same benefit.
But there’s a problem here – studies have shown that it’s most effective in doses of 100-200mg. Vapor X5 Neuro only contains 50mg, so it’s not likely to be effective in this pre-workout.

Huperzine A
There hasn’t been many studies conducted on Huperzine A, but it’s believed to enhance cognition.
However, it’s an unreliable ingredient, as nothing’s been proven. Not only that, it can cause numerous side effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, and sweating.
For this reason, we recommend that you avoid this ingredient.

Caffeine
This is a key ingredient in any pre-workout supplement – it’s shown to improve strength, endurance, and cognition (alertness, focus, and reaction time).
These are all great benefits to boost your gym session, and it’s dosed perfectly at 150mg. We recommend that you look for a pre-workout with caffeine dosages between 150-200mg, so you experience benefits without any side effects like jitters or energy crashes.

Yohimbine Extract
This is the worst ingredient in Vapor X5 Neuro. Why? Because it’s banned in the UK and Canada for causing harmful side effects.
So why’s it used in supplements in USA? Well, it’s usually seen in fat burners as it can promote fat loss – but fat loss isn’t a key benefit of a pre-workout anyway.
But ingredients don’t get banned in countries for no reason – we recommend avoiding Yohimbine.

Ultimately, it’s a shame that MuscleTech added ingredients that can cause side effects – because Vapor X5 Neuro contains some of our favorite pre-workout ingredients (L-Citrulline, Creatine Monohydrate, L-Theanine and Caffeine).
Bottom Line: We recommend that you look for a pre-workout that contains more key pre-workout ingredients, in their optimal doses.
