About The Product

Thermo Pre is a pre-workout/fat burner hybrid supplement made by Raw Synergies. It costs $39.99 on their website (at the time of writing this review) for 24 serving containers, and it only comes in 1 flavor – Fruit Punch.

We’re never really convinced by hybrid supplements; we believe that you should choose a ‘specialist’ product, which will be more effective for certain goals (premium fat burners will promote fat loss more than a pre-workout/fat burner hybrid)

Anyway, we’ll analyze Thermo Pre’s nutrient profile for you in the next section. But first, we’ll tell you more about the company behind it.

Who are Raw Synergies?

We won’t lie, we hadn’t heard of this company before, but we can only guess that they’re based in the USA.

There were no ‘about us’ sections on their website, so there was no opportunity to learn more about Raw Synergies.

We saw that they offer a fat burner aimed at women called ‘Ageless Kiss’. But you’re here to learn more about Thermo Pre, so let’s see which ingredients are inside.

Thermo Pre Ingredients Explained

Thermo Pre contains 10 ingredients overall, which is a good number to have. We don’t like when companies add over 10 nutrients, as they usually balance out the costs by under-dosing most of them.

For this reason, we’re interested to see whether Raw Synergies have added optimal amounts of ingredients in Thermo Pre.

From first glance, we’re glad that Thermo Pre doesn’t contain any proprietary blends. However, we can see that there is an overload of stimulants, which is very likely to cause jittery side effects.

Anyway, we’ll explain everything in more detail, as we take you through each ingredient inside Thermo Pre. By the end of this review, you’ll know exactly how safe and effective this supplement really is.

Here’s Everything You Need To Know:

Beta-Alanine

We always have mixed opinions about Beta-Alanine. It’s shown to improve your muscular endurance in the gym, but it also causes a side effect called paresthesia (itchy & tingly skin).

Personally, we find this side effect uncomfortable and distracting when lifting weights in the gym. But we know others that don’t find it as bad.

For this reason, we’ll leave this to personal preference; if you don’t mind suffering from paresthesia, then Beta-Alanine will be beneficial for you.

But one thing we’ll say, is that Creatine Monohydrate offers the same benefit without causing any side effects. So we’d choose Creatine Monohydrate every time.

L-Carnitine

L-Carnitine is a great ingredient to add into a pre-workout supplement; it’s proven to reduce muscular damage and fatigue, while improving your focus in the gym.

It’s important to know that you need at least 500mg per serving for it to work. But fortunately, Raw Synergies have done their homework and have added an optimal dosage in Thermo Pre.

Good job here.

MCT Powder

Also known as medium chain triglycerides, they’re found in high amounts in coconut oil. Many believe that they have a big impact on promoting fat loss, but studies have shown it’s only minimal.

Personally, we choose to cook using coconut oil instead of other oils, and this is enough. But we don’t see the need to add MCT’s into any supplement.

Ashwagandha

Not many people see the benefit of having Ashwagandha in pre-workout supplements. And while it’s never a key ingredient, it’s certainly useful.

Why? Because it’s shown to improve your power output during sports.

This means that Ashwagandha might help you slightly in the gym too. But we can’t say for sure, as there haven’t been enough studies that have focused in resistance training.

The good news is that Ashwagandha doesn’t cause any side effects, so there’s nothing bad about having it in Thermo Pre.

Overload of Stimulants

Now, this is the main concern we have with Thermo Pre; it contains a high dosage of Caffenie (250mg), as well as Yerba Mate and Theacrine, which are also stimulants.

This means that you’re almost certain to suffer from jittery side effects – as well as energy crashes.

As a general rule, we advise you to only choose pre-workouts containing under 200mg Caffeine per serving to stay safe. In fat burners, we recommend consuming under 100mg Caffeine per capsule (as fat burners offer more servings than just the 1).

Cognizin

In case you’re unaware, this is the patented form of Citicholine; this is a ‘brain booster’ that’s proven to enhance your cognition.

However, Caffeine offers enough of a boost to your focus to benefit your gym session. So there’s no need for other cognitive enhancing ingredients in Thermo Pre.

However, we believe that Citicholine is a key addition to any nootropic supplement.

Cayenne Pepper Extract

Here’s where Raw Synergies have tried to turn Thermo Pre into an effective fat burner.

Cayenne Pepper Extract is a key addition to any fat burner supplement. But it’s not going to deliver the desired effects on its own.

Ultimately, fat burner supplements work as they contain numerous key nutrients proven to raise your metabolism and promote fat loss.

In fact, this is the reason why we don’t believe ‘hybrid’ supplements work; companies simply add 1 or 2 ingredients shown to promote fat loss and claim it’s effective at delivering this benefit.

We’ll repeat that you should choose specialist supplements for each goal.

If you’re looking to improve your performance in the gym, then choose a pre-workout. But if you’re main goal is to lose body fat, then choose a fat burner supplement.

Black Pepper Extract

You’ll see this on your table and in restaurants quite frequently. Yes, that’s right, it’s the same Black Pepper that you sprinkle on your good to enhance its taste.

But you might be surprised to hear that Black Pepper Extract can improve your digestion and absorption rate of supplements it’s added to.

For this reason, while it’s never a key addition, we consider Black Pepper Extract to be a great ‘bonus’ nutrient in supplements.

Side Effects

There are 2 main concerns with Thermo Pre; the overload of stimulants, and Beta-Alanine.

In case you skimmed past the section above, we’ll give you a quick summary.

Simply put, consuming over 200mg Caffeine per serving in pre-workouts is likely to cause jitters and energy crashes. And Beta-Alanine is well known for making your skin feel itchy & tingly.

For this reason, we try to avoid supplements containing overloads of stimulants and Beta-Alanine.

Here’s the potential side effects from taking Thermo Pre:

  • Itchy & Tingly Skin (Beta-Alanine)
  • Jitters (Over 200mg Caffeine Per Serving)
  • Energy Crashes (Over 200mg Caffeine Per Serving)

Thermo Pre Review Conclusion

Ultimately, we haven’t been convinced that Thermo Pre is able to improve your performance in the gym while promoting fat loss.

In fact, Thermo Pre only contains 1 fat burning nutrient that’s shown to work. But if you’re main goal is to lose body fat, we strongly recommend choosing a specialist fat burner instead.

For this reason, we can’t recommend Thermo Pre to you. But saying that, it’s still not the worst product we’ve seen on the market – not even close.
