About The Product
Ghost Legend is a pre-workout supplement made by Ghost.
It costs $44.99 for 30 servings on their website, in a choice of 3 different flavors – Fruit Punch, Blue Raspberry, and the limited edition Warheads edition.
They’ve recently brought out a special ‘Christian Guzman’ edition, which comes in Lemon Lime flavor for the same price.
Who are Ghost?
Ghost is the supplements company behind this pre-workout. They were founded by 3 people, and aim to be a modern and fresh company (which you can see by the vibrant colors).
However, there wasn’t much more information available on their website.
Ghost Legend Ingredients Explained
We like that Ghost Legend doesn’t contain any proprietary blends – so you can see the exact dosages of each ingredient inside, which is a good start.
This pre-workout also contains some key ingredients, such as L-Citrulline, Caffeine, and Rhodiola Rosea. However, it also comes with ingredients that can cause side effects like Rauwolfia and Alpha GPC.
We’ll take you through each ingredient, so you find out how good Ghost Legend really is.
Here’s Everything You Need To Know:
L-Citrulline
This is a great ingredient to improve muscle pumps in the gym. Basically, L-Citrulline raises your nitric oxide levels, which has a direct impact on your blood flow (and therefore muscle pumps).
We prefer Citrulline Malate (the added Malic Acid in this ingredient also improves your strength), but L-Citrulline is still great on it’s own.
Remember that L-Citrulline’s optimal dosage is 3,000mg (so Ghost Legend contains a great amount), but if you’re looking for Citrulline Malate, then you need a 6,000mg dosage for it to work.
Beta-Alanine
We have very mixed opinions about this ingredient – Beta-Alanine can improve muscular endurance, but can cause paresthesia (see side effects section for more info).
Agmatine Sulfate
This is extracted from Arginine, which isn’t good. Simply put, Arginine has a poor absorption rate when orally supplemented so this isn’t likely to work.
For this reason, Citrulline is better (as it converts into Arginine in your kidneys and has a great absorption rate, taking away this issue).
Norvaline
Norvaline is believed to boost your nitric oxide levels – but no studies have shown that it works.
Taurine
Taurine’s shown to reduce cramping, but it offers no other benefit to improve your workout. However, there isn’t any negatives to having this ingredient in Ghost Legend.
Caffeine
The best stimulant you can find in any supplement – it’s safe and been used for decades (most people consume this daily in tea or coffee).
The only thing to watch is the dosages in pre-workouts; Ghost has done a great job by adding a 165mg dosage in here (anything below 200mg per serving will keep you safe from side effects like jitters).
Alpha-GPC
Also known as Alpha-glycerophosphocholine, it’s believed to enhance your strength in the gym. However, no studies have proven that it works.
Rhodiola Rosea
Rhodiola Rosea is one of our favorite pre-workout ingredients. It’s shown to boost your focus, while reducing fatigue and muscle damage.
The best thing about it, is that it works in small dosages (as low as 50mg) – so Ghost have dosed this well.
Dicaffeine Malate
This is caffeine mixed with malic acid, which improves your strength too. However, there’s already an optimal dosage of Caffeine in Ghost Legend, so there was no need to add this.
We recommend that you stay below a 200mg caffeine per serving limit, and this puts you very close to it (which increases your risk of side effects like jitters and energy crashes).
Theobromine
This is another stimulant, but as we’ve mentioned, Caffeine is the safest and most reliable stimulant available. There’s no need for Theobromine in here, and only increases your risk of side effects.
Olive Leaf Extract
Olive Leaf Extract is believed to protect your cholesterol levels, but it isn’t needed in a pre-workout. It’s more suited to a fat burner, but it’ll never be a key ingredient.
NADH
Also known as Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, it’s believed to improve your focus. However, there hasn’t been enough studies to prove that it works – or whether it’s safe.
Rauwolfia
Otherwise known as Rauwolscine, it’s a molecule similar to Yohimbine which is believed to promote fat loss. This isn’t good, as Yohimbine has been banned in numerous countries after causing harmful side effects.
Not only that, fat loss isn’t a direct benefit of taking a pre-workout supplement – there are already top quality fat burners on the market, so a pre-workout shouldn’t be trying to offer this benefit.

There’s a number of ingredients in Ghost Legend that can cause side effects – Beta-Alanine, Alpha-GPC, Dicaffeine Malate, and Rauwolfia.

- Headache (Alpha-GPC)
- Dizziness (Alpha-GPC & Rauwolfia)
- Heartburn (Alpha-GPC)
- Jitters (Dicaffeine Malate)
- Energy Crashes (Dicaffeine Malate)

Ghost Legend Review Conclusion
We’re disappointed that Ghost decided to add numerous ingredients that can cause side effects into their pre-workout.
Ghost Legend actually contains some key ingredients, such as Caffeine, Rhodiola Rosea, and L-Citrulline – so we’re giving it a 3.5 star rating. Ultimately, it’s potential to cause side effects lets it down.
We never recommend taking a supplement that can cause side effects – we believe that the best pre-workouts on the market contain key ingredients that’re optimally dosed (and are free from side effects).
