About The Product

Sheer Pre-X Platinum is a pre-workout supplement made by Sheer Strength Labs. It costs $59.95 for 30 serving containers, and comes in Cotton Candy flavor.

Who are Sheer Strength Labs?

Sheer Strength Labs consider themselves to be a premium supplements company. They market a range of products – from fat burners to pre-workout supplements, and are based in the USA.

We couldn’t find where they ship from – so those in the UK or Europe might be waiting a while, if they only manufacture and ship from America.

Anyway, let’s see how good Sheer Pre-X Platinum is.

Sheer Pre-X Platinum Ingredients Explained

In this section we’ll analyze the most important ingredients in Sheer Pre-X Platinum. However, one thing that we know is bad by looking at its ingredient list is this: it contains a very high amount of overall caffeine (350mg).

High Caffeine Dosage

It’s recommended that you only consume 400mg of Caffeine per day, so 350mg in one serving is a very large amount. This can cause side effects like jitters and energy crashes, which would ruin your gym session.

Here’s Everything You Need To Know:

Citrulline Malate

This is our favorite ingredient to enhance muscle pumps in the gym.

Sheer Strength Labs has done well to add an optimal 6,000mg dosage here – so you’ll be sure to experience its benefit.

Beta-Alanine

This molecule can improve muscular endurance – but it’s shown to cause parethesia (see side effects section for more info).

Betaine

This ingredient hasn’t shown to deliver any benefits in any study. Not only that, it can cause fishy odors in your breath and body secretions.

L-Taurine

This is a good ingredient in a pre-workout, as it’s shown to reduce cramping.

However, it’s not a key ingredient, and something like Creatine Monohydrate would’ve been better here.

L-Tyrosine

L-Tyrosine is better in a Nootropic, as it’s shown to enhance focus and memory. While this is a great benefit of a pre-workout, ingredients such as Caffeine have this covered already.

Caffeine & Caffeine Citrate

This is a key pre-workout ingredient when dosed correctly. Unfortunately, Sheer Strength Labs has added a HUGE overall dosage of 350mg here.

This can cause side effects such jitters and energy crashes.

DMAE

This is the worst ingredient inside Sheer Pre-X Platinum. It’s shown to be teratogenic – meaning it can cause defects in unborn babies, which is something you should seriously avoid at all costs.

For this reason, we don’t recommend taking any supplement containing DMAE.

Side Effects

Sheer Pre-X Platinum contains a few ingredients that can cause side effects – Beta-Alanine & DMAE.

Take a look:

  • Paresthesia – tingling on the skin of your face, chest, hands, fingertips & toes (Beta-Alanine)
  • Defects in unborn babies (DMAE)
  • Jitters (High dosage of Caffeine over 200-300mg)
  • Energy Crashes (High dosage of Caffeine over 200-300mg)

DMAE is an ingredient that we strongly recommend that you avoid.

Sheer Pre-X Platinum Review Conclusion

Sheer Pre-X Platinum contains some great ingredients (especially Citrulline Malate). But the mistakes made show that Sheer Strength Labs hasn’t done enough research when formulating this pre-workout.

Simply put, here’s the bad things about Sheer Pre-X Platinum:

  • Over-dosed Caffeine – An overall dosage of 350mg Caffeine will cause jitters and energy crashes.
  • Missing key pre-workout ingredients (eg. Creatine Monohydrate, Rhodiola Rosea)

Ultimately, there are many better pre-workouts on the market, especially for the same price. We strongly recommend that you avoid Sheer Pre-X, as it contains DMAE which can cause a serious side effect.
