About The Product

Sexy-strong fuel is a pre workout supplement made by Sexy Strong. It costs $52.99 for 17 servings, making it one of the most expensive pre workouts we’ve reviewed yet (especially considering there’s under 20 servings in 1 container).

It’s available in 2 flavours; Bangin Blue Raspberry and Pink Lemonade, so it doesn’t take a genius to know that this product is aimed at women.

Anyway, we’ll analyse Sexy-strong Fuel’s nutrient profile for you in the next section. But first, we’ll tell you more about the company behind this product.

Who are Sexy Strong?

Sexy Strong are a USA-based supplements company that market products made specifically for women.

They have an impressive athlete sponsor list, including the likes of Niki Zager, and they’ve done well at marketing their brand through social media.

This company also markets a range of supplement, including fat burners – one being called Burn.

However, you’re here to learn about Sexy Strong Fuel. So let’s see which ingredients are inside below…

Sexy Strong Fuel Ingredients Explained

Sexy Strong Fuel contains 15 ingredients overall, which isn’t a good thing; we usually find that supplements containing over 10 nutrients are under-dosed.

For this reason, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the dosages of ingredients inside Sexy Strong Fuel.

However, we’d both be here all day, when we could be watching Netflix if we analysed every nutrient inside Sexy Strong Fuel.

So we’ll pick out the most important ingredients, which will give you enough of a feel of how safe and effective this pre-workout really is.

Here’s Everything You Need To Know:

BCAAs

This is formed by 3 branched chain amino acids; l-leucine, l-isoleucine and l-valine.

BCAAs have shown to help promote muscle protein synthesis (muscle growth), so can be great when consumed after a workout.

However, as Sexy Strong Fuel is a pre-workout supplement, you’ll have to consume BCAAs before your workout here.

For this reason, we believe that this is an unnecessary ingredient in Sexy Strong Fuel.

We’d have preferred to see a key pre-workout ingredient such as Citrulline Malate here instead (which has proven to improve your blood flow and muscle pumps in the gym).

Beta-Alanine

This is quite a controversial ingredient, as it’s shown to cause a side effect called paresthesia (itchy &a tingly skin).

However companies still add Beta-Alanine to their pre workouts, as it can also enhance your muscular endurance.

Ultimately, it’s up to you whether you mind suffering from itchy & tingly skin in the gym. But personally, we try to avoid Beta-Alanine when we can.

We prefer Creatine Monohydrate, as this offers the same benefit, without causing any side effects.

L-Arginine AKG

This is basically the salt of l-arginine and is believed to raise your nitric oxide levels (which would enhance your muscle pumps).

However, l-arginine and anything extracted from it has a poor absorption rate when orally supplemented. For this reason, it’s not likely to actually work in Sexy Strong Fuel.

Ultimately, we have to consider L-Arginine AKG to be an ineffective nutrient here.

L-Carnitine

Now, this is a great ingredient to have a in a pre-workout supplement.

Why? Because it’s proven to reduce muscular fatigue and damage, while strengthening your mind-muscle-connection in the gym.

As these are key benefits to improve your gym session, we consider L-Carnitine to be a key addition to any pre-workout.

Sexy Strong have done a great job here, as they’ve dosed L-Carnitine correctly in Sexy Strong Fuel.

L-Glutamine AKG

This is an amino acid that is believed to benefit those that don’t consume meat; this includes vegetarians that don’t consume much dairy, and vegans).

Why? Because L-Glutamine is naturally found in meats (an also huge amounts are contained in whey protein).

However, there doesn’t appear to be much evidence to prove that it works; it’s believed to enhance muscle protein synthesis (growth), but no studies have shown that this is true (it’s only seen to be effective in those suffering from physical wounds).

As a result, unless you’ve badly cut yourself recently, there’s no need to consume L-Glutamine.

L-Phenylalanine

L-Phenylalanine is another amino acid. Again, this is commonly found in meats, dairy and eggs, so it’s really only beneficial for vegans.

It’s believed to improve your mood and be effective at treating depression. But if you eat meats on a daily basis, then you’ll be getting your fill of L-Phenylalanine anyway.

For this reason, unless you’re vegan, we consider this to be an unnecessary addition to Sexy Strong Fuel.

L-Lysine

We’re not sure why Sexy Strong Fuel contains L-Lysine; this is generally used to treat symptoms of herpes simplex.

L-Lysine has been believed to improve your digestion of Vitamin C in the past. But this hasn’t been backed up by reliable studies.

Side Effects

The good news is that Sexy Strong Fuel isn’t likely to cause any serious issues. However, that doesn’t mean it’s free from side effects.

As Sexy Strong Fuel contains Beta-Alanine, you’re likely to suffer from a side effect called paresthesia (itchy & tingly skin).

While this isn’t harmful, it can distract you from your gym session, and it’s never good looking like you have fleas while working out…

Personally, we try to avoid supplements containing Beta-Alanine, but this is very much a personal choice. You might not find its side effect too distracting.

Here’s the potential side effects from taking Sexy Strong Fuel:

  • Itchy & tingly skin (Beta-Alanine)

Conclusion

It’s strange that Sexy Strong market this pre-workout as being able to “accelerate fat loss” (which is displayed on Sexy Strong Fuel’s container).

Why? Because it doesn’t contain any nutrients that are proven to promote fat loss.

However, we’re impressed that Strong Sexy has managed to dose most ingredients well – even though there are 15 ingredients overall.

But saying that, it doesn’t contain many key pre-workout ingredients, so it can’t compete with the highest rated pre-workout supplements on the market.

The positive is that Sexy Strong Fuel contains beneficial ingredients if you’re vegan or a vegetarian with low dairy intake. However, if you’re not vegan or vegetarian, this supplement won’t do much for you – except cause itching and tingling…

While Strong Sexy Fuel contains good dosages, its ingredients aren’t likely to improve your performance in the gym (in our honest opinion).
