About The Product

Magnum PRE4 is a pre-workout supplement made by Magnum Nutraceuticals. It likely to cost around $49.99, although this is a sneak preview, and it comes in 50 serving containers.

From first glance, we’re glad that it contains a sensible dosage of Caffeine Anhydrous. But then we can see that there’s also DiCaffeine Malate (another stimulant) in Magnum PRE4; this can push you ‘over the edge’ and cause jittery side effects.

Anyway, we’ll analyze Magum PRE4’s nutrient profile for you in the next section. But first, we’ll tell you more about the company behind it.

Who are Magnum Nutraceuticals?

We really liked Magnum Nutraceutical’s ‘about us’ page on their website. It was definitely one of the best we’ve seen, and it provided all of the key information we look for.

This supplements company was founded in 2005, so they’re well established by now. Also, we like that they create their products in cGMP certified facilities, to make sure they’re the highest quality.

Every company should be proud of the awards they win, so we were happy to see that they show you the ‘popeye’s supplements brand of the year’ award.

But you’re here to learn more about Magnum PRE4, so let’s see which ingredients are inside below…

Magnum PRE4 Ingredients Explained

There are are 9 main ingredients in Magnum PRE4 that we’ll be looking at in this review; this is a good amount to have in a supplement, as it gives the company a good chance of dosing the nutrients optimally.

As we mentioned, we had very good first impressions of this pre-workout. It contains an optimal dosage of Citrulline Malate with the 2 scoop servings – but this means that you only get 25 servings per container.

But one bad thing is that it contains Bitter Orange Extract, which has been reported to cause numerous side effects.

Anyway, we’ll take you through each ingredient inside Magnum PRE4. By the end of this review, you’ll know exactly how safe and effective this pre-workout really is.

Here’s Everything You Need To Know:

Citrulline Malate

Citrulline Malate is a key addition to any pre-workout supplement, and we’re glad that many companies have learned this; more and more are adding Citrulline Malate to their products, which is great.

What does it do? Well, it’s able to raise your nitric oxide levels and enhance your blood flow.

However, it’s important to know that it only works when consumed in 6,000mg dosages; this means you’ll only consume an effective amount with the 2 scoop servings of Magnum PRE4.

Ultimately, this means that Magnum PRE4 is only worth taking this way, which reduces the number of overall servings per container to 25 (which still isn’t bad at all).

But we’re just happy that Magum Nutraceuticals have done their research and offered an optimal dosage of Citrulline Malate in the first place

L-Carnitine

L-Carnitine is another key pre-workout ingredient, as it’s proven to reduce muscular endurance and damage. This means that it can help you train more frequently in the gym.

Again, Magnum PRE4 only contains an optimal dosage of L-Carnitine with the 2 scoop serving. As we mentioned before, this isn’t a bad thing, but it’s worth knowing that this pre-workout is only worth taking with 2 scoop servings.

Agmatine Sulfate

In case you’re wondering, Agmatine is extracted from L-Arginine, but this isn’t a good thing; L-Arginine has proven to have a poor absorption rate when orally supplemented.

It’s believed to enhance your muscle pumps in the gym, but it’s not shown to be very effective.

For this reason, we consider Agmatine Sulfate to be an ineffective ingredient inside Magnum PRE4.

French Pine Bark Extract

Companies have started to add French Pine Bark Extract due to it containing Pycnogenol; this is believed to enhance your nitric oxide levels and promote muscle pumps in the gym.

However, while it’s shown promising signs, it’s not proven to work in many studies. For this reason, we consider French Pine Bark Extract to be an unreliable addition to Magnum PRE4.

Bacopa Monnieri Extract

We can see why Magnum Nutraceuticals have added Bacopa Monnieri Extract into Magnum PRE4; it’s able to improve your cognition, making it a great addition to nootropic supplements.

However, as you don’t really need improved memory while pumping iron, this isn’t a necessary ingredient here.

In fact, Caffeine offers enough of a boost to your focus, to benefit your gym session. So while Bacopa Monnieri Extract can be a good ‘bonus’ nutrient, it’s not really necessary either.

L-Theanine

Now, when this is consumed alongside Caffeine, it can promote the benefits of the stimulant, while keeping you safe from side effects.

However, L-Theanine’s only shown to work when it consumed in higher dosages than Caffeine; as Magnum PRE4 contains the same amount as Caffeine Anhydrous, it’s not likely to work here.

We usually consider L-Theanine to be a key addition to any pre-workout supplement. But this is a great example of a company under-dosing a nutrient and making it ineffective.

Caffeine Anhydrous

Caffeine Anhydrous is the best stimulant you can find in supplements, as it’s a pure form of Caffeine; this means that you know exactly how much you’re putting into your body.

It’s important to consume under 200mg Caffeine per serving in pre-workouts. This will keep you safe from side effects, while enjoying the benefits of it (improved energy, strength, endurance and focus).

If Caffeine Anhydrous was the only stimulant that Magnum Nutraceuticals added to Magnum PRE4, then they would have dosed it perfectly.

But here’s the problem; they’ve also added DiCaffeine Malate, which is another stimulant, so Magnum PRE4 is likely to cause jittery side effects.

DiCaffeine Malate

In case you’re wondering, this is basically Caffeine bound with Malic Acid. However, as we just mentioned, the bad news is that this puts you at risk from suffering jittery side effects.

For this reason, we advise that you choose supplements that only contain 1 stimulant – to stay safe.

Bitter Orange Extract

We’ve mentioned throughout this review that Bitter Orange Extract is the worst addition to Magnum PRE4.

Why? Because it’s commonly reported to cause numerous side effects, which is no surprise when you know it contains high amounts of Synephrine.

Synephrine is a chemical that’s been banned in most countries, including the USA and UK. But companies are able to pass a legal loophole and add Synephrine in the form of Bitter Orange Extract.

For your safety, we advise that you try to avoid pre-workouts containing Bitter Orange Extract. And it’s not even needed in Magnu PRE4, as it’s only benefit is slightly promoting fat loss.

If you’re main goal is to lose body fat, then you’ll find fat burner supplements to be more useful.

Side Effects

The main concern with Magnum PRE4 is that it contains Bitter Orange Extract; as we’ve mentioned, this has commonly been reported to cause numerous side effects, which we’ll bullet point below.

But another worry is that Magnum PRE4 contains both Caffeine Anhydrous and DiCaffeine Malate. Ultimately, this puts you at risk from suffering from jitters and energy crashes.

Here’s the potential side effects from taking Magnum PRE4:

  • Nausea (Bitter Orange Extract)
  • High Blood Pressure (Bitter Orange Extract)
  • Anxiety (Bitter Orange Extract)
  • Jitters (Overload of stimulants)
  • Energy Crashes (Overload of stimulants)

Magnum PRE4 Review Conclusion

We might sound like we’ve criticized this pre-workout, but we believe that Magnum Nutraceuticals have actually done a good job here.

You don’t see many companies optimally dosing ingredients such as Citrulline Malate and L-Carnitine, so this puts Magnum PRE4 ahead of many products.

However, it’s the small mistakes that can make the difference between an good product, and the best pre-workouts on the market. Ultimately, adding Bitter Orange Extract and an overload of stimulants has pushed Magnum PRE4 down the rankings.
